120 gsm polyester: the heavy end of the range
120 gsm polyester is the heaviest standard grade we quote: separation under heavy load, protective covers, industrial filtration where service life is the cost driver.

Where weight replaces layers
Three layers of 40 gsm do not behave like one 120 gsm web: the interfaces slip and the assembly delaminates under load. A single heavy web keeps its integrity, which is why heavy separation and protection use one thick layer rather than a stack.
Protective covers and pads
Equipment pads, ground protection and transport covers use this grade because it resists puncture from a corner or a stone without a scrim. The same property makes it hard to cut cleanly, so converting needs a sharp die and a clean anvil.
Cost per year, not per roll
Heavy grades are usually justified on replacement frequency. Two years of service at 120 gsm often costs less than four replacements at 60 gsm, and the calculation is worth doing before the quotation is compared.
Other weights in this range
This grade sits in the Polyester range. Buyers comparing across weights usually ask for two or three of these at sample stage, because the decision is made on the converting line rather than on the data sheet.

Questions
Common questions
Is 120 gsm too heavy to convert?
It cuts and sews well with the right tooling. Hand cutting and light dies struggle, so the converting method should be agreed with the fabric specification.
Can it be used outdoors?
Only with UV stabilisation. Ask for the grade with a declared exposure period.
What is the roll weight?
Typically 300 to 500 kg per roll at standard diameter. Handling equipment should be checked before ordering.
