Is a COA enough evidence of quality?
A COA is a statement, not an independent test. It is enough when it lists the method, the specification limits and the actual batch values, and not enough when it lists only pass or fail.

| Document | Issued by | Covers |

| Material declaration | Producer | Substances, compliance |
| Inspection certificate | Third party | Quantity and condition |
What to check on a COA
Batch code matching the roll, the method for each property, the specification limit and the measured value. A COA that reports 'conforms' without numbers cannot be compared with anything, including your own incoming test.
When you need a third party
Regulated markets, first shipments, and any dispute. A laboratory report names the method and the specimen, which is what makes it usable in an argument.

Questions
Common questions
Does a COA expire?
It applies to the batch. Ageing can change properties, so a COA says nothing about a roll stored for two years.
Can a COA be issued for a converted product?
Only if the converter tests it. The fabric COA covers the fabric.
Is a COA the same in every market?
No. Content and legal weight vary, so ask for the format the destination regulator expects.
