Supply and commercial
A customer says the fabric is out of specification. What settles it?
Evidence, in a fixed order: the retained sample, the batch record, the test method and photographs at each handover. Claims drag when any of the four is missing.
At a glance
Specification at a glance
| Evidence | Who holds it | Why it decides |
|---|---|---|
| Retained sample | Producer | Shows the batch as shipped |
| Batch test record | Producer | Shows values at production |
| Incoming test | Buyer | Shows condition on arrival |
| Photographs | Both | Shows handling and damage |
| Method statement | Both | Makes numbers comparable |
The first question is always the method
Two labs reporting different tensile values are usually using different specimen widths or speeds. Agreeing the method before the argument starts turns a dispute into a measurement.
What a good claim file contains
Batch code, quantity affected, what failed, how it was measured, photographs and a proposed remedy. A claim with those five is resolved in a week; one without them runs for a quarter.
Send the specification question with the numbers
Width, weight, roll build or a claim to resolve: tell us what the line sees and we answer with the tolerance and the next step.
